
Mukhtar Waza
MUKHTAR WAZA (1966 – PRESENT) born in kadipora anantnag is chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Peoples League and a prominent member of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, an alliance of Kashmiri separatist groups at the forefront of the political struggle against democratic Indian government in Jammu and Kashmir. He is a strong advocate of the right to self-determination of Kashmiri people and believed that an independent plebiscite under UN supervision could bring long lasting peace in South-Asia.
BIRTH AND CHILDHOOD
Born in business family of south kashmir's kadipora town of Anantnag on 2nd june 1966.Mukhtar ahmed waza did his early schooling at government middle school ,sarnal anantnag but could not his studies due to affiliation with Peoples leaguefor which was jailed at very early age of 16 years

POLITICAL CARRER
waza's political career begin in 1980 at the age of 14 he led a peaceful demonstration Indian government in Kashmir and was arrested and booked under psa for 3 years and was booked under tada act for 1 year in 1986 He along with the league activists were arrested time and again which affected Waza’s education. waza's was again arrested on 2 March 1992 and was released after 3 years in 1995. for continuing peaceful activities he was continue arrested in local police stations. after the killing of sheikh abdul aziz waza become the chairman of peoples League in these 13 years waza was arrested several time and was arrested for 2 years and his brother mohd Abbas waza was also arrested for 2 years and his full family was torched.

Mukhtar is married to tahira akhter and they have to sons-REYYAN MUKHTAR WAZA- UMAIR MUKHTAR WAZA
